In the article “Professor Harold Joseph Berman as My Teacher and Friend” dedicated to the bright and blessed memory of one of the most prominent and outstanding American legal scholars, the author, via his description of the first and subsequent significant moments of his personal association with the honorable Professor H.J. Berman (of Harvard Law School and Emory University Schools of Law) at Moscow State University’s Law Department, as well as his nearly twenty-five-year mutual friendship and academic collaboration with him, reveals the importance and fruitful character of sincere, confidential and useful relations between scientists and, particularly, legal scholars of differing countries, generations, ways of life, and world views.
The mere existence of such extremely important, diligent, friendly, active, and fruitful relations between highly educated people of different generations and ways of life helps us to reach the best understanding of different persons and nations, as well as to promote their comprehensive and speedy development. This includes the development of general scientific and cultural enrichment, personal legal consciousness, and sense of justice, as well as any other creative talents, professional skills, and personal potentials.

Abstract:
The election of the President of the Russian Federation showed that the options for a way out of the situation that had developed in the country were fundamentally different for the candidates to the Presidents of the Russian Federation: from the restoration of the people's power in the country, the public property, the actual equality of all nations to the program of its activities in the role of President, consisting of two words: "Truth and Freedom." All presidential candidates stressed that all promises will be realized by them. Abstract:
The history of the Russian state does not consider the development of the state and the right for about a thousand years. Since the time of the Scythians in Eastern Europe have developed dozens of major state formations. Historical sources provide information on the impact of nations «Eurasian steppe corridor» for Europe and «developed» civilization. Also, In the sphere of legal relations of the states of «Eurasian steppe corridor» there is continuity. This long-term trend is not considered in the history and theory of law. Thus, a single process of development of the state and law has been broken into separate parts. Excluding the contribution of «Eurasian world-system» is impossible to create an ideological basis for the construction of the Union State and the CIS, and the study of the state and law would remain flawed.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The modern concept of the history of Russian statehood It does not consider the development of the state and law for centuries. This article deals with the problem of the birth of Russian statehood on the basis of previous cultures and countries. Some of the events associated with the beginning of the dynasty of the Russian princes, took place two centuries earlier. Economic conditions for allocation of the state were formed long time. The Hunn period Dnieper and Dvina river routes were consolidated and began to act the way «from the Vikings to the Greeks.» At the time of the Avar khanate comes first mention of rus/ros and the beginning of the Russian dynasty.
